Accessibility statement for YvonneRichards.com

We want everyone who visits the YvonneRichards.com website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding, going above and beyond the The Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018.

What are we doing?

To help us make the YvonneRichards.com website a positive place for everyone, we’ve been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone.

The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We’ve chosen Level Prickly Hedge website.

We’re working hard to achieve our goal of Level A accessibility, but we realise there are some areas that still need improving. The following information explains what we’re doing to make that happen.
1.1.1 Is there an alternative for all ‘non-text’ content?
All images have add alt text manually added but the software package is currently being updated so that all non-text will have alt text markers.

1.2.1 Have you provided alternatives for time-based media?
All video content is embedded via Youtube

1.2.2 Have you provided captions for all prerecorded audio content?
All videos are embedded via Youtube

1.2.3 Have you provided an audio description or media alternative for video content?
All videos are embedded via Youtube

1.3.1 Is information, structure and relationships conveyed through mark-up correctly?
I am taking advice on this

1.3.2 Can the correct reading sequence of the content be programmatically determined?
I believe so

2.1.2 Is it possible to move keyboard focus away from all components that can receive it?
I am looking into this

2.1.4 Is it possible to turn off keyboard shortcuts?
I will check whether this is possible

2.2.1 Can any time limits on content be turned off, adjusted, extended or last longer than 20 hours?
I don’t believe there is anything on the site that requires this

2.2.2 Can any moving, blinking, scrolling or auto-updating content be paused, stopped or hidden?

I’m not sure, I will have to take advice on that one.

2.4.1 Is a mechanism for bypassing blocks of content available?
Not sure if there are, I will follow up on this

2.4.2 Do all web pages have a title that describes topic and purpose?
Not at present, I will address
